The NHI Korea is enthusiastically preparing for their upcoming annual Public HR Conference which will once again be held on their Global Campus in Gwacheon. Participants will include not only public organizations and officials (for example the Ministry of Science and ICT), but also experts from the private sector (such as Naver), academic experts (like Ewha Women’s University and KAIST), and esteemed foreign partners (to include Italy’s SNA and Australia’s ANZSOG).
What brings all of these greats minds together is a shared interest in the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) as both a technology and a catalyst for change within the Human Resources Development field. As such, the theme of 2023’s conference will be “Exploring a New Paradigm for Public HRD in Times of AI-triggered Innovation.” As the theme implies, the participants will be approaching the potential of AI with a spirit of excitement and optimism, but will also tackle the very real concerns around privacy, ethics, and welfare that such advancements will ultimately entail.
The conference will kick off with a keynote speech by Dr. Matissa Hollister (McGill University, Canada) with Dr. Illoong Kwon (Seoul National University, Korea) joining her as a special discussant. They will be followed by three sessions: “The Perils of AI and Our Preparation,” “The Promise of AI and Our Strategies,” and “Putting AI Into Wise Use: Lessons and Implication for Practitioners.
The NHI’s Global Cooperation Division continues to work feverishly towards the October 27th conference date, and hopes to see all of their colleagues and other curious professionals in the public HR field both online and in person this fall. A QR code for easy registration will be provided at a later date for interested parties, as well as additional information and a full speakers list.
