Welcome to the NHI,
the Global Public HRD Hub in South Korea.
The NHI, the National Human Resources Development Institute, is the cradle of Korea’s most valued public talents, and has been playing a pivotal role in the country’s development since its inception as the NOTI, the National Officials Training Institute in 1949.
We are living through an unpredictable post-COVID world. Energy crises, fear from deflation after inflation, the world’s lowest fertility rate that is highly likely to put the country on the brink of crisis, an elderly population of over 10 million that is still expanding at a fast pace, and critically, an international security environment that has become ever more challenging, all call for an unprecedented level of innovation in Public HRD.
That is precisely the reason why it is imperative for us to bring in new public service values that keep up with our time. The NHI must design a new program plan that prepares public officials in the era of Industry 4.0. A tumultuous security environment in Northeast Asia, along with North Korea’s formidable threat, necessitates education curricula on the righteous point of view of the nation, security, and history as government officials.
Education in general sets the course for the next century, but education for public officials, who are the pillars of the nation, paves the way forward for the next millennium of the country, the home of our future generations for thousands of years to come.
Pursuant to the governing philosophy of the President of the Republic of Korea that featured with upholding a righteous point of view on history, an unwavering loyalty to the nation, and a firm stance against imminent security threats, the National Human Resources Development Institute will hold dear to its mission of nurturing public talents that harness the right foresight necessitated in our time, evolve with the changes of this era, and pioneer in innovation.
